About this event

The PGA TOUR's 2026 season tees off in paradise at the Sony Open in Hawaii, hosted at the iconic Waialae Country Club on the island of Oahu. From the lush fairways framed by palm trees to the sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, this world-class event brings together 120 of the world's top golfers in a thrilling competition for a share of the $9.1 million purse.

This year, all eyes are on defending champion Nick Taylor, who returns to Waialae after a dramatic playoff victory in 2025. The Canadian star rallied in the final round to capture his fifth PGA TOUR title and become the 11th international player to win the Sony Open in Hawaii. As Taylor said after his inspiring win, "I feel like I can rise to the occasion and it's pretty fun."

More than a premier professional golf tournament, the Sony Open in Hawaii celebrates the spirit of aloha by giving back. Through Friends of Hawaii Charities, the event has raised over $26 million since 1999, supporting more than 350 nonprofit organizations that serve women, children, the elderly, individuals with special needs, and families in need across the islands.
