40th Kūpuna Hula Festival - Craft Fair

OUTRIGGER Kona Resort & Spa is proud to host a special Craft Fair as part of the 40th Kūpuna Hula Festival.

Kūpuna Hula Festival returns in 2026 to celebrate a remarkable milestone — its 40th anniversary. The festival continues its legacy of honoring the artistry, tradition and spirit of kūpuna through the timeless expression of hula. This year's theme, "He Lei Poina'ole Ko Hawaiʻi" ("Cherished moment of Hawaiʻi woven into a lei"), invites participants to share mele hula that reflect treasured memories and meaningful connections to Hawaiʻi.

The festival brings together dancers, kumu hula, musicians and audiences from across Hawaiʻi and around the world in celebration of culture, ʻike and aloha. Over two days, guests can experience individual and group hula competitions, special performances, an international hōʻike and a vibrant craft fair showcasing local artisans and makers.

As the Kūpuna Hula Festival marks four decades, the celebration promises to be a heartfelt tribute to hula, heritage and the communities that continue to keep these traditions alive. The event highlights the enduring importance of preserving Hawaiian traditions while creating new memories for future generations. E ola ē!
